We are a Sikh youth-run organization dedicated to Defending the Essence of Sikh Heritage, and instilling Sikhi within the diaspora.

CURRENT PROJECTS

  • We're conducting a statewide survey to uncover concerns about Gurdwara management and promote transparency within Gurdwara committees, especially among youth.

  • We’re building a searchable video archive to document Sikh history especially the 1947 Partition and the 1984 genocide by recording survivor stories and preserving them for future generations.

  • We're inviting Sikh youth to contribute analysis on Sikhi-related topics from geopolitics to theology to foster deeper intellectual discussion within the diaspora.

Check out Singh-Afzal Film Collective

DESH is a proud supporter of the Singh-Afzal film collective, a youth-run production company that focuses on poignant and relevant political topics relating to current events. Politics is an integral element of Sikhi, as Sant Jarnail Singh ji one said, “Sikhi and politics are inseparable”.

Watch SAFC’s first premier film, “No Sanctuary: Addressing Transnational Repression Within the Next Four Years”. It focuses on transnational repression directed towards Sikhs in the western diaspora by foreign governments, and is a C-SPAN Student Cam winner.
